Katie Brown
After her years as a participant, Katie said she “wanted to give back the experience that I received as a teen.” Inspired to help other teens fully appreciate our program, Katie joined our volunteer staff in 2011, and has since staffed camp every year in both Northern and Southern California. However, Katie’s dedication does not just include camp, she also joined the Advisory Board and the Alumni Committee because she “wanted to help sustain the camp outside of just the once a year commitment.” Katie has also supported NTLP in other areas, such as assisting with the gala and designing the 2019 camp program book.
Katie graduated from Southern Oregon University in 2016 with a BA in Science in Elementary Education. Katie is a second grade teacher and lives in Red Bluff, California with her husband Kyle and their two lovely children, Emmett and Rylee. Katie says that NTLP has given her the tools to identify the strengths in others, a skill she uses often in both a personal and professional capacity. Katie is also grateful for the “life-long friends”she has made through her involvement with NTLP.
