April Speaker for Alumni: Kyler Erickson

The National Teen Leadership Program is hosting a speaker for anyone who has gone through one of our programs. We invite all our alumni to join us on Thursday, April 29th at 5:30pm PDT to:

  • Meet Kyler Erickson to hear how fights to eliminate the stigma associated with mental illness and help as many people as he can.
  • Participate in Q & A.
  • Hear NEW NTLP updates!

Kyler Erickson is a professional speaker, director of suicide prevention, and an NCAA All-American. He’s been featured in the New York Times, ABC News, USA Today, and Yahoo Sports. He’s a member of the 2016 ‘Allstate Good Works Team,’ given to only five basketball players across the country. After witnessing a shooting at his high school, his mission has become very simple; to help as many people as possible, and to erase the stigma associated with mental illness.

Kyler is brought to you by the Fisher Agency. Learn more about Kyler at www.tfaspeakers.com.

Expanding NTLP’s Reach Internationally

Partnering with Skillarthi, India

The National Teen Leadership Program (NTLP) is excited to announce a new partnership with Skillarthi Ventures Private Limited (Skillarthi) based out of India. Skillarthi is an ed-tech start up launched in September 2020 to impart skill based learning courses to teenagers inspired from spiral learning methodology. The partnership program facilitated by NTLP will be open to high school boys and girls across India. Skillarthi Integrated Program, consisting of 16 courses, is a sequential level based program in which each level comprises of four skill learning courses for teenagers. Some of these courses include Know Your Why, Creativity and Innovation, Become an Influencer, Networking, Laser Focus, Financial Literacy, Brainstorming and many more. These programs prepare young people with creative, critical, communicative, collaborative skills to face the VUCA world which is Volatile, Uncertain, Complex and Ambiguous with exposure to international cultures. NTLP will be delivering the training of soft skills and leadership development, and introducing teens to the many cultures that make up the United States. For the initial 6 months, teens will participate in three consecutive web series either in the first or second part. The web series will cover Communications, Leadership, and Mental Health. The program with Skillarthi begins in June 2021. NTLP looks forward to working with Skillarthi and making NTLP’s first international partnership a great success. Check out Skillarthi on their website www.skillarthi.com.

NTLP offers youth leadership and diversity programs to empower teens to reach their full potential as leaders. Their programs focus on students between grades 8-12. NTLP will apply 28+ years of leadership development expertise in providing fun, interactive, engaging and inspiring educational curriculum to Skillarthi students. The curriculum will focus on empowering the students to become effective future leaders through the development of soft skills, with an emphasis on social, emotional learning. The final topics and number of sessions will be determined by Skillarthi and NTLP will customize the curriculum accordingly. To view a list of NTLP’s other partnerships, click here.

Reflection Web Series

by jen April 8, 2021

Reflection

An NTLP Web Series

All Sessions are $149 Per Student

Our online program will be facilitated in real-time. Participants will occasionally receive videos/information to supplement content and weekly assignments. They will meet with a facilitator every week for 60 to 75 minutes for a live, guided discussion on their weekly assignment and curriculum. In each web series that we offer, the facilitators ask insightful questions and have the group play trivia games to connect with one another to build rapport. Our curriculum stems from the Social and Emotional Learning Competencies which are Self-Awareness, Social-Awareness, Responsible Decision Making, Self-Management, and Relationship Skills. We provide a safe space for participants to learn, grow, and thrive. We want them to have space where they can share their experiences with their peers, connect, discuss difficult topics all while fostering growth in their leadership skills. The web series will cost $149 per student.

Completion of Series

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion after they complete an assessment that will be sent out via email after the last session. If you have questions about our online programs, contact Ashleigh Cook at acook@ntlp.org.
