We want to congratulate our alumnus Miguel Sanchez for being chosen as a Coca-Cola Scholar! He was chosen for demonstration of exemplary leadership while in high school. Out of nearly 100,000 applicants, Miguel is one of 150 nationwide! He will receive a $20,000 scholarship award to study at a university of his choosing. Our 26th Annual National Teen Leadership Program summer camp in 2018 was nothing short of amazing! The weekend was blazing hot – it capped off at 113 degrees. Even through the hot weather, the energy was still high among our participants and alumni staff!
The National Teen Leadership Program is proud to support OCA Sacramento – Asian Pacific American Advocates. OCA represents Asian Pacific American Advocates, a national organization dedicated to advancing the social, political and economic well-being of Asian Pacific Islander Americans in the United States. NTLP will be working in conjuntion with OCA Sacramento to plan upcoming leadership events. Stay tuned for details of our joint event.
OCA Sacramento is currently hosting an Essay Contest asking students to answer “What is the Census 2020? Why is it important to you? How would you promote participation?” Essay contest is open to students 5-22 years old who reside within the Greater Sacramento Metropolitan Area. Prizes range from $75 to $400.

The National Teen Leadership Program is honored to be included in the inaugural 2019 CAL-PAL Youth Mentoring and Leadership Academy (YMLA), working with A’ric Jackson from Generation Leadership. The YMLA event is one of the “flagship” youth programs hosted by the California Police Activities League (CAL-PAL). Dedicated to supporting the youth in each PAL community, they work hard to provide them with life-changing opportunities and experiences they would likely not be able to enjoy otherwise at no cost.

We got to hear Sylvia Garner of Pure Empowerment Seminars deliver an amazing keynote on evolution of the self #womenspeakersrock! #empowerment and A’ric Jackson – The Dream Achiever brought the kids into an experience that helped them realize the importance of understanding another culture or way of living and getting past differences in order to live peacefully. #YouthLeadership Then, Derlin dropped the “kids off” to Disneyland! #workhard #playhard
