I attended the NTLP camp up by Irvine. I just have to say, I had a fantastic time over there. Now that I have gone, I am a true supporter of building teen leadership and of course, this camp. I wish all teen kids could experience this camp. The world would be a better place if they did.
There is something I must admit. I never thought I was a prejudice person, or a person who stereotype other people. Now that I look back on it I realize that at the beginning of camp I saw kids who I immediately stereotyped, but going through camp made me realize, that we are all the same. We all go through similar experiences in life, and we can't judge people by the way they look like. It's what is in the inside that matters. Now that camp has ended, I always think to myself what I learned at camp. I learned to love all people. I still remember when Calvin Terrell told us that it is so much easier to insult someone than to think of a compliment to give them. What he said there along with so many other things he said really got to me and he is so right. Now I always try to look for the good in people rather than the bad.
This camp has made me a better person and has given me a new perceptive on the world. I told my friends what I did and learned at the camp. I spend my days now researching volunteer opportunities around my community so I can better the world. I will definitely try to attend NTLP again next year. My favorite part was the ropes course and Calvin Terrell.
Thank You so much for making a difference in teens lives and thank the NTLP staff for me because they deserve a lot of credit too.
Anyways I just wanted to say that NTLP is like the greatest thing ever and I totally support it and want it to grow. Thank you and I hope to be there next year.
