  • Fall 2014

    Celexsy and Michele 1996

    Dear NTLP Friends and Family,

    We Have Tremendously Exciting News!

In honor of Laura Segura’s 22 years of dedication to the National Teen Leadership Program (NTLP), our organization has received a matching challenge grant of $25,000! The purpose of the grant is to honor her in perpetuity and to provide a structure for people to always be reminded of her founding role by telling her story each year. The money raised from the challenge grant will be used to establish the Laura Segura Scholarship Fund which will send countless teens to our camp for years to come.

    Here’s How it Works

To receive our $25,000 matching grant, NTLP has been challenged to raise $25,000 by the date of our Gala, November 15, 2014! We gladly accept this challenge BUT we need your help TODAY! Let’s double your contribution today! Your donation will be matched 100% up to $25K.

We hope Laura’s story and a few testimonials will inspire you to help us face this challenge head on:

    ntlp 1992

    Laura’s Story

In 1992, Laura was a single mom struggling to raise her daughter, Michele. At the first program, Laura met so many wonderful teens that would become role models for her daughter and future leaders in our world, that she was inspired to continue the program each year. She envisioned a fun and exciting program with a positive environment that would empower, inspire and educate all teens to discover and maximize their unique leadership potential and embrace the diversity and equal value of everyone. Through this very special dream and vision, NTLP was born and has continued to provide this service for the past 22 years.

It was Laura’s personal mission to involve every student in an NTLP program, regardless of GPA, acquired leadership position, financial background or any other factor. With the help of NTLP and generous donors like you, over 12,000 teens have found a unique support system in the NTLP family and have gone on to make a significant impact in their communities. However, there are so many more teens that have not had the privilege of experiencing the life changing effect of NTLP.

    How You Can Help

PLEASE help us perpetuate Laura’s legacy and ensure that her dream lives on. The money raised from the challenge will be used to establish the Laura Segura Scholarship Fund which will send countless under privileged teens to our camps for years to come and will help to remind everyone of her founding role by telling her story each year.

PLEASE make a contribution of ANY AMOUNT today! Your donation will be matched 100% up to $25K. Help us show Laura we will diligently and whole-heartedly continue her work to open the minds and inspire the hearts of teens for generations. Visit www.ntlp.org to learn more about our organization and to donate now.

    Inspiration from Students and Parents

“This camp has made me a better person and has given me a new perspective on the world. I told my friends what I did and learned at the camp. I spend my days now researching volunteer opportunities around my community so I can better the world. I will definitely try to attend NTLP again next year. My favorite part was the ropes course and Calvin Terrell. Thank you so much for making a difference in teens lives and thank the NTLP staff for me because they deserve a lot of credit too.” A Joslin, NTLP So-Cal Camp 2014

“I want to extend my thanks to your NTLP staff for a wonderful camp over the past weekend at Trinity University. Both my children thoroughly enjoyed the camp especially the relationship that they made with NTLP staff members and the other teens during the camp. They can’t say enough good things about the camp. I guess the one thing that they wish was the camp could be longer. All the speakers were very motivational especially Calvin. He seems to make the most impact on [them]. I am certain that [they] will apply what they learned from this great experience to better their communities.” – Parent, NTLP Texas Camp 2014
