Blast from the past! 1999 NTLP fun trip to Disneyland
included: Dan Medal(94), daughter Ashleigh Medal (08) (who attended
NTLP this past summer), Laura Segura, daughter Michele (00/01), Lari
Malagon Hernandez (94), Sergio Minero (95/96), and Philip Speer
(93/94).
November is eScrip month for NTLP and to help us
celebrate, we are offering FOUR (4) passes to
DISNEYLAND, including FREE parking!
This is one of NTLP’s best fundraisers and the one that is
the easiest for you to participate!
eScrip: If you shop at Safeway, Von's, Pavilions, EW Value,
Albertson’s, Cala Bell, or Raley’s/Bel air/NOB HILL FOODS, or Macys,
NTLP can receive a percentage of your sale every time you use your
Grocery Loyalty or Macys card! It doesn’t cost you or your friends
and family even one single dime because the donations come directly
from the participating merchants.
This significant fundraiser earned over $6000 for NTLP in
2008 but with your help, we can DOUBLE that amount in
2009.
Here is what you need to do:
- Download
the eScrip form.
- Make as many copies as you need.
- Circulate it to your friends, family members and
co-workers.
- Ask them to write the loyalty card numbers or Macys card
numbers in the space provided.
- Each entry must be complete with name and address. Just
card numbers alone do not qualify.
- Phone numbers cannot be substituted for card numbers. If
you do not have your card, you can call the participating store or
simply pick up and fill out a new application.
- Mail, email or fax completed forms with your name to NTLP
at:
- PO Box 4486, El Dorado Hills CA 95762, fax: 916-244-7095,
email: lsegura@teenleader.org
- Each entry must be unique (not already in the eScrip
system).
- Each entry must be accurate (double check numbers before
sending).
- Each entry must be complete: Name, complete address and
card number.
Now here’s the good part! For every entry, NTLP will send you
ONE raffle ticket toward our drawing for the 4 Disneyland
passes. For every Macys card submitted, NTLP will give you TWO
raffle tickets. So if one household gives you their Safeway card and
a Macy’s card, NTLP will send you THREE raffle tickets. There
is no limit to the number of entries you can submit. In fact, we
encourage you to submit hundreds!

Meet 1999 Alumni, Chris Hadlock!

Martial Arts Master Chris Hadlock
Chris attended NTLP in 1999 when he was a junior at Oakridge
High in Shingle Springs. He returned to staff at St. Mary’s College
in 2001. As a participant Chris impressed us during a talent
competition and won the honor to perform his martial arts
demonstration at our Closing Program. Already an accomplished
martial artist, Chris had 3 Black Belts before his high school
graduation.
Today at 27, Chris is embarking on a
year-long quest to pursue not only his 5th degree black belt but to
get in the best shape of his life physically, mentally and
spiritually. A walk though his interesting web site reveals the
challenges he has set for himself in the year to come. Among them:
100,000 pushups, 100,000 sit ups, 100 hours of martial arts
training, reading, journal entries, mediation and community service
work. Chris has never taken his eyes off the achievement of his
personal goals since we met him nearly 10 years ago and we’re
impressed to see how far he’s come. Visit his web site: http://www.ayama4.webs.com/.
When you get there, be sure to click on the link “Private Training”
to view Chris’s “money back guarantee for life.”
How many times can you attend NTLP?

Chantal Williams, Orianna Trau and Janice Santana
2008
Well, if you are Chantal Williams and you insist on attending
NTLP as a 7th grader that would be six times! Chantal
attends Independence High in San Jose, is very active in her
community and was this year’s Ambassador Award Winner.

to help you do something in your community.
Where are they now?
NTLP Alumna, Cyndie Chang
Cyndie, a graduate of Schurr High, attended NTLP in 1995
& 1996 and staffed in 1997. In the years to follow, Cyndie would
attend Johns Hopkins University, graduating in 2000 with honors and
then Loyola Law School, attaining her JD in 2003.
Cyndie currently works as an attorney at Duane Morris LLP,
specializing in commercial and insurance coverage litigation and
real estate law. She is also a licensed Real Estate Broker. Among
her many awards and accomplishments, Cyndie received the Senior
Leadership Award and Multicultural Student affairs award from Johns
Hopkins and the National Leadership Award from her Sorority. She has
chaired the Inter-Asian Council, Asian Awareness Month and was
Convocation speaker for Black History Month. We are glad that
Cyndie stays in touch with NTLP and appreciated her support for our
2008 Raffle. We would like to congratulate her on winning one of the
